Why Christianity?

In several nations, it is illegal to become a Christian. But people become Christians anyway — despite penalties and even threats of death. Thousands of believers are killed each year, yet more people become Christians.

Christianity can spread even when it is persecuted. That is actually the way Christianity started — Jesus was killed as a political criminal. In the first 200 years after his death, many thousands of Christians were killed as the Roman Empire tried to exterminate this new faith.

Millions of people become Christians each year. Scientists, farmers, historians, and clerks — people from all walks of life — become Christians. Why?

Crazy Love

We all love something. We love our kids, our homes, our friends, our family, our pets, our jobs, our communities, our gardens, our churches. We love eating out and shopping and going out on the town to a outstanding event. We love a good book, a nice vacation, a riveting movie, or a walk on the beach. And most people can tell what we love by how we spend our time and money and attention.

Our very life exhibits our priorities. That is what Jesus meant when he said "where your treasure is, your heart will be also". So what is your treasure? Is it God? or is it something else?

What does your very life say about your priorities?

God wants to be your FIRST priority. He wants you to be CRAZY in LOVE with HIM. We were created to be in relationship with God FIRST and FOREMOST. And if you miss that, you have missed out on the greatest relationship of your entire life. Jesus reminds us in the gospels, " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind." Are you Crazy In Love with God? Because God is Crazy in Love with you.

"God is love. Crazy, relentless, all-powerful love. Have you ever wondered if we’re missing it? It’s crazy, if you think about it. The God of the universe—the Creator of nitrogen and pine needles, galaxies and E-minor—loves us with a radical, unconditional, self-sacrificing love. And what is our typical response? We go to church, sing songs, and try not to cuss. Whether you’ve verbalized it yet or not...we all know somethings wrong. Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith that addresses the problems of our world with tangible, even radical, solutions? God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself". - Taken from the book CRAZY LOVE.

Fall in love with God - it is guaranteed to Change your Life!!

Marriage stats

Marriage Experts all over the country agree that these are the steps to a happy marriage.

Never assume.

Compliment more than you criticize.

Remember that it is ok to do things differently

Always make time for the two of you.

Remember that marriage is sometimes a bed of roses and sometimes there are thorns.

Remember that the best gift that you can give your children is to love their mother/father.

If You Cheat on your spouse, you are cheating on your children.

Remember that people do fight. It's how you do it that matters. Try holding hands next time you are arguing and see the difference

Before starting an argument, consider if it's really worth it.

Agree to disagree.

Do you want to be right or do you want to be married?

Respect each other's privacy.

Marriage is not 50/50, it's two people giving 100/100 all of the time.

Enjoy your marriage, make the time to have some FUN!

Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

A Happy Marriage

We all have hopes and dreams for a rewarding and joyful marriage. If you want a sharp reminder of the vows we all took to, love, honor, forgive and cherish each other, just attend a wedding like I did this past weekend. Here is what the minister told the audience at the little village church in Rhode Island just before the vows were taken.

"The union of husband and wife in heart, body and mind is intended by God for their mutual joy; for the help and comfort given one and other in prosperity and adversity. The marriage is not to be entered into lightly or unadvisedly but reverently, deliberately and in accordance with the purposes for which it was instituted by GOD.

May we have wisdom and devotion in the ordering of our common lives that each may be to one and other - a strength in need, a counselor in perplexity, a comfort in sorrow and a companion in joy. Give us grace so that when we hurt each other we can acknowledge each fault and seek each other's forgiveness and yours. Make our life together a sign of Christ's love to this broken world, that unity may overcome estrangement, forgiveness heal guilt and joy conquer despair.

Love & Respect: The Love She Most Desires; The Respect He Desperately Needs

Psychological studies affirm it, and the Bible has been saying it for ages. Cracking the communication code between husband and wife involves understanding one thing: that unconditional respect is as powerful for him as unconditional love is for her. It's the secret to marriage that every couple seeks, and yet few couples ever find.

Today, you and your mate can start fresh with the ground-breaking guidance that Dr. Emerson Eggerichs provides in this book. His revolutionary message, featured on Focus on the Family, is for anyone: in marital crisis...wanting to stay happily married...who's feeling lonely. It's for engaged couples...victims of affairs...pastors and counselors seeking material that can save a marriage.

Do We Forgive?

Forgiveness is something virtually all Americans aspire to - 94% surveyed in a nationwide Gallup poll said it was important to forgive. However in reality, we are not living up to our own ideals. It turns out forgiveness is something we don’t offer frequently. (In the same survey, only 48% said they actually tried to forgive others.)

Finding Forgiveness

He goes on to say, "Several things occur once the forgiveness process is complete. First, our negative feelings will disappear. We will not feel the same way when we run into these people on the street or in the office. Harsh feelings will be replaced by feelings of concern, pity, or empathy, but not resentment.

Second, we will find it much easier to accept the people who have hurt us without feeling the need to change them. We will be willing to take them just the way they are. Once the blinders of resentment have been removed from our eyes, we will have a new appreciation for their situation and motivation.

Third, our concern about the needs of other individuals will outweigh our concerns about what they did to us. Instead of concentrating only on ourselves, we will be able to see our offenders as people with legitimate needs of their own."

A Woman of Excellence

We need to start by meditating on what is "honorable and true". It is a daily task to sort through all the information that comes across our desk, computer screens, televisions, blackberries, books, newspapers and gossip circles. But we can be more intentional about what we allow to enter into our lives. We need to be discreet with how we spend our time, who we are listening to and what influences and opinions are our final authority. The Bible tells us to only think about what is "excellent and praiseworthy". Start today to pursue the excellence that God has defined and see how you quickly you can elevate the goodness of your life and those around you.

Biblical View of Excellence

The Greek word translated "excellent" in the New Testament come from diaphero, which literally means "transport" or "differ". The Hebrew word translated "excel" is alah which means to ascend. Both of these words are used to encourage us and ascend us above the norm - to differ through the qualities of virtue and goodness.
